This application aims to rename your photos and videos so that the filenames begin with the date of recording. This way you can always sort your files chronologically, regardless of the recording device and even after they have been copied or modified.
Context:
If you want to view photos and videos in chronological order in the Gallery app, sorting by filename often doesn’t work because image filenames start with “IMG_” or “PANO_” and videos with ” VID_” or “MOV_” (depending on your device). Panoramic photos and videos will finally be released.
Sorting by EXIF shot date also doesn’t work because the videos don’t contain EXIF data. It will be displayed last (or first).
Sorting by “Date Modified” file system usually works fine on the original device. But when you copy your files to another device, the copy date will be the new “Date Modified”, which will disable the original chronological order of the files.
For these reasons, it makes sense to rename your photos and videos using this app before transferring them to another device (smartphone, tablet, or PC), so that all filenames begin with the date they were taken. were taken.
