Prismify aims to bring you the perfect sync between your Hue bulbs and Spotify.
What makes Prismify unique is that it uses and combines the possibilities offered by the entertainment zones of Philips Hue with the very detailed analysis of the track currently playing by Spotify.
It allows Prismify to achieve (under ideal conditions) perfect synchronization between lighting and sound as well as multiple other things.
Prismify’s light show is deterministic, chance has little or no place here.
The new 2.0 feature lets you customize different parts of a track, as well as save that customization, so the next time the track in question appears, your custom settings will automatically be applied to the lighting.
You need three things for this:
– the Spotify app installed on the same device as Prismify
– Hue colored lights with bridge v2 and entertainment area already created
– be connected to the Internet
Next, log in to Spotify, select your Entertainment Space and press play!
You can:
– choose between several color palettes (only 3 in the free version) (there is one that always matches the cover of the track being played)
– create your own palettes, based on your imagination or track coverage
– select the order in which the lights are going to be played
– adjust brightness and flash
– select when all lights should play a sound
– filter sounds according to their intensity or duration
– assign specific sounds to specific lights (ex: all C, C# will be played by the lightstrip)
– …
Note that while most of the above settings are “premium”, there are no specific limitations in the free version, it is totally usable with all your lights! But the default settings may not be the best for all tastes and types of music.
Another “cool” thing to note is that you can enjoy the lighting provided by Prismify even if it’s not the Spotify app on your mobile that’s streaming the music. The only thing needed in this case is that the same account is used on both Spotify apps. Although be aware that in this case it can happen that the two Spotify apps are not perfectly synchronized, which causes a small delay (ranging from a few milliseconds to a second, which can be corrected using the delay parameter if necessary).
Either way, I hope you enjoy Prismify!
