FAQs / Tips
How to use the widget
Event Flow is a widget, so you need to put it on your home screen from your widget list. The procedure varies slightly depending on the specific Android version and your device model, but is usually done by long-pressing an empty spot on your home screen, selecting the “Widgets” option, and dragging the desired widget to the home screen.
Widget not updating
It’s probably because your device has some sort of battery saving setting that prevents the gadget from updating (it needs to update once a day and before/after each event). Please check your device’s app and battery settings and make sure they are not interfering with the tool’s operation. You can find more information here: https://dontkillmyapp.com/
Why aren’t reminders available?
Google hasn’t made reminders available to third-party apps yet. We are monitoring it to see if that changes.
My Outlook/Exchange calendar is not showing
If you’re using the Outlook Android app, go to app settings, select the account you want to see, and make sure “Sync calendars” is on. If that doesn’t work/is not possible, you may be able to add your Outlook/Exchange account in your device settings -> Accounts and access these calendars through the Google Calendar app, which should also make them available on the widget.
My birthdays/contacts/other calendar not showing up or syncing
The tool only reads the local calendar database on your device, which is managed by Android and your calendar app. Sometimes there can be synchronization issues, and updating can help: In your device settings->Accounts->Select your account->Account synchronization, update the “Calendar” and “Contacts” options “. Next, open the Google Calendar app, go to the side menu and uncheck/check the affected calendars.
How to configure the widget to look like screenshots
Most of the screenshots show the 2 barriers at the same time: in the upper part, place the calendar widget, resized to occupy one line, and in the lower part, the widget, without the title (configured in the settings of the diary). Then just choose the colors you prefer.
I want to select an exact color for an option
In the color picker for this option, click on the center circle that displays the color and you can enter the hex code of the color you want (include alpha component – 0x00 transparent, 0xFF with solid color). You can also copy/paste this code to/from another article.
Permissions
We don’t like apps that ask for too many permissions without justifying them. So here’s what we need and why:
Calendar: To read your calendar events. Without this permission, the tool does not work, so it is mandatory.
Location: Shows the weather forecast for your location. This is optional, you can choose not to give this permission and not show the weather forecast or manually choose a forecast location.
