DS Barometer is a beautifully designed barometer and barometric pressure logger for Android devices with or without barometric pressure sensor.
This barometer is more than just an atmospheric pressure reader. It has the advantage of calculating the mean sea level pressure at your location. Mean sea level pressure is the pressure value reported on weather maps and is a standardized pressure value that allows you to compare air pressure at different locations regardless of temperature and altitude. This type of comparison is used to make meaningful weather forecasts. In order to do this calculation, the app will require your permission to access your location.
The app also includes a background pressure monitoring feature designed specifically for a mobile barometer unit. Our pressure monitor is able to handle changes in location and altitude as all recorded pressures are reduced to sea level. Please note that in order to use the monitoring function in the background the app will need to your permission to access the location in the background at any time.
Besides its use for weather forecasting, barometric pressure monitoring can also be useful for people with barometric migraine and other medical conditions related to barometric pressure, such as arthritis, which may be made worse by changes. barometric pressure.
For devices equipped with a barometric sensor, this app uses the atmospheric pressure measured by your phone to calculate the barometric pressure adjusted to sea level at your location. Temperature and altitude, also used in the calculation, are obtained by comparing your location to databases of weather and altitude readings. These values are more reliable than the values returned by your GPS chip and your phone’s temperature sensor, and may give a more meaningful barometric (mean pressure at sea level) reading.
