A magnetic compass with magnetic declination correction for maximum accuracy. A compass is an instrument used for navigation and orientation that shows the direction relative to true north. True north is calculated based on magnetic north and magnetic declination at your current location. In some places in the world, magnetic north can be up to 20 degrees from true north.
– Use GPS or network location for maximum accuracy
– Correction of magnetic declination
– True altitude above sea level
– Altimeter
– The elevation calculation uses the EGM-96 model
– Supports multiple UTM, DD, DMM or DMS coordinate formats
– Show latitude and longitude
– Sunrise and sunset times
– Easy calibration
– Shows the angle in degrees
– Clean design
– Install to SD
– Save places to follow them
– Create multiple favorite place lists
– Shows the shortened route to a place
– Search for new places by name or address
– Qibla Compass (find the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca)
Location tracking allows you to save your current location and then find its direction from anywhere else in the world!
Note on horizontal accuracy:
The location of the device has horizontal accuracy which depends on the quality of the GPS signal. The lower the horizontal accuracy, the better the precise location. In some cases, the horizontal accuracy can be so great that other information can be inaccurate – altitude, distance, and bearing to a place very close to you. Updating your position after a few seconds can give you better horizontal accuracy.
Note on device calibration:
Smartphones use magnetic and orientation sensors to calculate the direction of magnetic north. The sensor may be in an unknown state when starting the application. Sensors require many values to achieve optimum accuracy and precision. To do this, move the phone in space in a ∞ pattern until the accuracy becomes high.
This application requires permissions to calculate your position and magnetic declination for better accuracy of this compass and to provide you with additional information such as true north, true altitude above sea level, bearing and distance from anywhere in the world.
