The reliable and simple Aviation Weather app for pilots and aerospace enthusiasts. The METAR-Reader decodes and presents the current METARs of over 9500 airports worldwide. Neither more nor less. A simple color coding allows for quick classification according to VFR or IFR conditions – optionally also according to NATO color status. Additionally, current TAF weather forecasts are retrieved and displayed clearly in a decoded form.
Runway crosswind components are calculated automatically based on the current METAR. There is also a widget that can be configured to display decoded METAR or raw METAR/TAF.
As a bonus the app offers access to NOTAMs for weather stations, which will be downloaded, partly decoded and which can be marked individually as read. This way you can easily keep track of new and relevant NOTAMs.
New weather stations can be found worldwide by ICAO or IATA codes, airport name or city. They can be organized into user-defined groups – e. g. for your most common routes or alternative airports. In addition, a self-managed group always presents nearby weather stations.
For use at night, a dark theme is available which can be activated manually or automatically by the system (depending on the Android version).
